World Refugee Day is recognized throughout the globe this month. In Utah, World Refugee Day is this Saturday June 23rd from 10-4:00 pm at Fairmont Park, 1040 Sugarmont, Salt Lake City, UT.

Organizations gather in their locales to network, brainstorm and provide support for the highest number of refugee displacement in history. Stats from the UNHCR provide shocking numbers.

"By the end of 2017, 68.5 million individuals were forcibly displaced worldwide as a result of persecution, conflict, violence, or human rights violations. That was an increase of 2.9 million people over the previous year, and the world’s forcibly displaced population remained at a record high. This includes: 25.4 million refugees in the world—the highest ever seen; 40 million internally displaced people; and 3.1 million asylum-seekers."

TSOS, or better known as Their Story is Our Story, will be part of the organizations featured at this all day event at Fairmont Park. TSOS  is a non-profit organization, that gives a validating voice to refugees impacted by this difficult climate of uncertainty. Their stories and photos will be featured in a compelling book called "Let Me Tell You My Story" (available on Amazon.com and Familius.com) to be released in October 2018. We look forward to meeting you at the TSOS booth to share heroic refugee stories and opportunities of hope for refugees. Saturday, June 23rd, at the Fairmont Park, 2100 South 1071 East in Salt Lake City.

Bring the entire family to bask in the warmth of humanitarian fellowship and support which will be evident at this notable event. Come with questions or a willingness to help.
