A few miles west of the Salt Lake City Utah International Airport in America is a stretch of peaceful desert grassland where the quiet is punctuated by the sounds of birds . . . and goats.

The goat herd belongs to refugees from three distinct East African tribes — Burundi,  Somali Bantu, and Bajuni. Families from all three groups are being resettled in Utah after fleeing years of civil war and the terror of rogue militias in Somalia and neighboring countries. Some have lived for decades in refugee camps in Tanzania. This video highlights some of the ways the goats are helping the three communities transition from their old lives in Africa to their new ones in America.
